A New Canon

Whom should be considered significant for their contributions to art and design? Historically, the creative practice of a slim western white male patriarchal establishments has been the focus. Despite a recognized need to both question and expand the pantheon of graphic design practice, little more than lip service has been given to breaking the tradition of the western canon of visual communication. The graphic photo-portraits on display offer a speculative glimpse of what an expanded canon of the future might look like while tracing the influences of the recognized designers.
